Inspired by the amazing hit TV show ‘Glee’, Manchester Glee was founded by Louisa Walmsley and Ruth Williams – self confessed ‘Gleeks’, in April 2010.
“Despite not being teenage and not being American, we thought our dream of being in Glee would never come true…”
But now an enthusiastic band of people meet up every Tuesday and sing all sorts of songs, ranging from 80′s power ballads to show tunes with a bit of everything else thrown in for good measure.
We wanted to join a choir that was full of people our own age, singing current songs. But every group we found was full of old people, singing vaguely religious music. So we thought we’d set up our own, and not surprisingly found a whole load of people who wanted to join too!
